The Shire of Goomalling is looking for expressions of interest from entities to run, manage and promote historic Slater Homestead. The Slater Homestead has in the past been successfully utilized to hold extensive functions including weddings, birthday parties, corporate team building events, wake gatherings and school end of year parties. The asset provides and accommodates a bespoke experience that delivers a worthy memorable occasion for all.

If you own a dog, you must collect and remove all droppings that they leave in a public place such as a park, on a footpath or a dog exercise area, including the Goomalling Recreation Ground. Dog poo is offensive to others walking and enjoying our public, open spaces; and it can cause health issues, such as spreading disease and infections to other dogs.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ORDINARY POSTAL ELECTION NOTICE OF RESULTS Shire of Goomalling

A Dumbleyung farmer took delivery of some farming supplies sent from rural Victoria. The goods were sent to Goomalling, collected by the farmer, and taken back to the Dumbleyung farm. The farmer then discovered four hibernating queen European wasps hiding in the delivered goods. These queens have now been destroyed. As a consequence of this discovery, we will bey setting up a trapping grid around the towns in an effort to stop any potential establishment of EW in these regions. This will occur around December this year and will be monitored through to June/July 2023. Attached is some information on how the trapping surveillance works.

The new and standardised Australian Fire Danger Rating System (AFDRS) comes into effect 1 September 2022. It is important that all residents understand what they mean and how they affect those who use fire.

Roads works will be on Gabby Quoi Quoi Road (SLK 10.41) for culvert replacement between Northam-Pithara Road and Bybering Road junctions; and the junction of Eaton & Hoddy Streets.

More Western Australian businesses and premises will be required to maintain contact registers to further strengthen WA’s contact tracing capabilities, should it be required.
