BioSPHERE BOODJA celebrates with great respect ancient Indigenous knowledge systems, as we all build a deeper empathy for the natural world. BioSPHERE BOODJA Ritual is an interactive free public event taking place in Goomalling Koomal on Ballardong Boodja on the 28th of September 2025.

The public are invited to Goomalling Koomal in the wheatbelt of Western Australia to join professional artists and the local community for one amazing day to build puppets and clay creatures, and to learn a powerful Nyungar totem song.

As the sun sets on the beautiful town of Goomalling Koomal, the streets will come alive as the children of Goomalling Koomal become their giant threatened species puppet and dancing and calling out down the street of the town. A congregation will then form at the base of the monumental, dome shaped Goomalling CBH Grain silos.

The surface of the domes will then be transformed into a monumental story telling canvas, as we project the puppets through an audio video projection spectacular across the surface. Narrated by Ballardong Aboriginal Elder Tracey de Grussa, the projection movie will transform the domes into a giant egg that will crack open revealing the endangered creatures we need to care for on Balladong boodja.

BioSPHERE BOODJA ritual will portray a very powerful message of rewilding our imagination, inviting us all to adopt our own native totem creature.

BioSPHERE BOODJA invites us all to come together as one species to prioritise all other species in the biosphere.
